The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to announce the November general membership meeting "What is Your Labor IQ? Administering Idaho’s Labor Laws" presented by Craig Soelberg, Program Supervisor of the Idaho Wage and Hour Division. As human resource professionals you are called upon to make decisions – sometimes deliberate but oftentimes quickly. When it comes to state and federal labor questions, how prepared are you to make a decision regarding your company’s and employees obligations and rights under the Wage Payment Laws? How should you enforce wage payment laws? What do you have to do to monitor compliance with licenser farm labor contractors?
This presentation will test your knowledge of Labor Laws and educate employers and employees of their obligations. Using real life examples of wage and labor questions, you will leave with the knowledge and tools to be a more effective HR professional as well as prevent the incidences of wage and labor violations. Craig Soelberg is currently the Program Supervisor of the Idaho Wage and Hour Division and has held that position for the last four years. He supervises the six Labor Compliance Officers that enforce Idaho Labor Laws throughout the state. He also manages the legislative budget and proposes new legislation. Prior to that, Craig held the title of Unemployment Insurance Benefits Specialist for two years. He trained local office workers on adjudicating unemployment insurance law and worked as a project manager for IT programs. Before that Craig was a local office adjudicator of unemployment law and a job service consultant. Private sector experience includes two years as an HR Recruiter and three years of management experience in a finance company. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in History and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. |
