Job Description
Cattle Feeding Manager, J.R. Simplot Co. (Grand View, ID). Responsible for the mill crew & feed crew, managing the quantity & quality of feed & proper ration distribution to custom cattle within the feedlot, to ensure overall cattle health & the maximum amount of weight gain. Work with Feedyard maintenance department & IT to ensure the proper preventive & scheduled maintenance on all feed trucks, loaders, scales, & feed system laptop computers. Monitor cattle performance on a regular basis & continually work to improve performance. Bachelor’s Deg or foreign equiv in Agricultural Engg or related field. Min. 2 yrs of exp in job or as Animal Scientist in large feedlot or dairy envrmt. Knowledge of animal feed & nutrition, animal health & cattle conditions; ability to load & operate a feed truck; ability to manage 20-30 employees on feed & mill crews.
