  • OVERVIEW

    Job Title: Facilities Specialist - Project for Pride in Living (PPL)

    Pay Rate: $12.25

    Hours: Flexible schedule M-F between 8 a.m. -5 p.m. 10-15 hours per week. School year position.

    Location: PPL Administrative Office, 1035 E. Franklin Ave, Minneapolis

    STUDENT MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION

    JOB SUMMARY

    PPL's mission is to build the hope, assets and self-reliance of individuals and families with lower incomes through transformative affordable housing and employment readiness services.

    The Property Management Division is a fast-paced unit of PPL that manages over 1,300 affordable rental units in Minneapolis and St. Paul neighborhoods and first-ring suburbs

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Support functions of the Facilities team by working collaboratively with property management, maintenance staff, tenants, vendors, service providers and the facilities team
    • Create and update spreadsheets accurately
    • Contact vendors by phone and email for information at staff direction
    • Train, supervise and mentor high school interns as needed/directed
    • Prepare billing-related mailings for residents and vendors
    • Internet research projects
    • Data entry, sorting and categorizing invoices
    • Updating Work Order Information for maintenance and facilities team
    • Assit with photcopying, mailings, info packets and filing
    • Work collaboratively with other students on projects as directed
    • Other projects as assigned to support Facilities and Property Management functions

    QUALIFICATIONS

    **THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE STUDENT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY**

    STUDENT MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION

    • Self-starter and self-directed, ability to work independently on assigned projects
    • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft programs
    • Good communication, organization, time management and problem-solving skills
    • Responsible, detail-oriented, patient
    • Ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds
    • Ability to work well in a communal enviroment with the facilities team
